2007-08-10 OhmiGene adds UTF-16 support

OhmiGene 1.60

Thierry Nauze has released ohmiGene 1.60. New in this version is support for UTF-16. UTF-16 UNICODE has been in the GEDCOM specification since GEDCOM 5.5 released on 1995 Jan 2.

UTF-16

PAF has been providing UTF-16 support for years. There is no great demand for it, as UTF-8 is considerably more practical for Western users, but it is good to see another application provide feature.

GmC dropped

OhmiGene 1.60 also drops support for GmC, a proprietary format that ohmiGene supported.
